The following are links to PDFs with instructions regarding the activities and major assignments I expect you to complete this semester.
Assignment #1: Literacy/Writing Narrative
For this assignment, you will write a narrative describing how you became part of a literacy/discourse community or how your relationship to writing and reading developed. This assignment is worth 10% of your final grade.
Assignment #2: Proof and Practice
For this assignment, there are a number of options. You will conduct research on a class you teach and WAC or you will conduct a discourse analysis comparing and contrasting writing in different disciplines or you can create an annotated bibliography focusing on a WAC topic. Assignment #2 is worth 15% of your final grade.
Assignment #3: ECAC Presentation
For this assignment, you and a partner will teach the class about how to apply a technology (digital or otherwise) to a WAC theory. You will provide us a lesson in which we use your idea. Assignment #3 is worth 15% of your final grade.
Assignment #4:
Course/Unit Website, Multimedia Project, Course/Unit in Print, or Scholarly Paper
For this assignment, there are a number of options for you to choose from. The course/unit website option is an assignment you and a partner may complete. #4 is worth
30% of your final grade.
FinalBlog
You are required to set up a blog and write respones to our readings. See the resources sections for links to blogging sites. Blogs are worth 20% of your final grade.
TheoristCardPresentation
You and a partner are required to present on the articles listed in parentheses next your name on the schedule. Theorist Card Presentations are worth 10% of your final grade.
