Major Coursework
Major coursework is worth 50% (500 points) of your final grade.
Assignment #1--Non-Digital and Digital: A TechnoAnalysis
For this assignment you will write a 3-5 page essay critiquing the communication practices between an analog and digital technology. This assignment is worth 10% (100 points) of your final grade.
Assignment #2--Digital Genre Review
For this assignment you will write a 3-5 page essay comparing and contrasting the representation strategies used by 2 differrent digital communities or softwares. This assignment is worth 10% (100 points) of your final grade.
Assignment #3--Multimedia Project
For this assginment, your group will create a website, movie, or comic book in which your group shows how a particular website, game, blog, or other digital environment deals effectively and ineffectively with issues of diversity. This assignment is worth 30% (300 points) of your final grade.
Other Coursework
Other coursework is worth 50% (500 points) of your final grade.
ExtraCreditBlog / FinalBlog / Blogs (7, 8, & 9) / Blogs (4, 5, & 6) / Blogs (1, 2, & 3)
You are required to set up a blog and write responses to your readings. They are worth 20% (200 points) of your final grade.
CyberTheorist Presentations
These are presentations you and a partner will conduct on our readings. You will have to create a rhetoric card on the reading which contains important information. It is worth 10% (100 points) of your final grade.
Quizzes
Throughout the semester I will be giving quizzes on definitions, readings, and class experiences. They are worth 10% (100 points) of your final grade.
InClass/HomeWork
There will be assignments and activities for you to complete in and if we don't have enought time outside of class. These assignments are worth 10% (100 points) of your final grade.
