About Dr.
Vinny is one feature for this month. She arrived FedEx one cold October morning. And she ate. Then she ate some more. And she continued to eat and eat. If she were human, I would be a proud father because she would be winning hot-dog eating contests.
Vinny is named after Vinny from the movie, My Cousin Vinny. Her moniker came to us after watching the movie and really getting it--getting what it means to be a New Yorker. Her name will symbolize our time here.
Selway is this month's other feature. He is a Green Cheek Conure we found at Joe and Mary's Parrot Place in Middlesex, NJ. This bird is not really a bird but more of a shapeshifter. Sometimes he is a vampire chewing and nibbling Ailene's face. Ailene is growing in the number of facial orifices she possesses. Sometimes he is a scarf wrapped around and warming Ailene's neck.
Selway is named for the river that runs near our favorite hiking trail in Idaho--the Selway river. His name reminds us of that place.
