Minor Assignments
In class activities/homework/participation—100 points
Throughout the semester, you will be given assignments to complete in and outside of class.
Reading Responses—200 points
Click on the "reading responses" link to find instructions for your responses. You will be responding to readings and commenting on your responses to readings in ANGEL. These are due by 11:00 am.
Major Assignments
Assignment #1: Branding a Fairy Tale—200 points
This is a three-part assignment in which you choose a common fairy tale and use the principles you learned in Bang and Berger to create a movie poster for a modern day version of the tale.
Assignment #2: Everyday Expertise—200 points
For this assignment, you and a partner will research and become experts in an everyday rhetoric. You will assign readings for one week of class and teach us about the everyday rhetoric.
Assignment #3: An Instruction Manual for an Everyday Rhetoric-300 points
For this assignment, you and a partner will create a rhetorical instruction manual or glossary for an everyday rhetoric you have researched. This manual may be based on the everyday rhetoric you became an expert at in Assignment #2.
